CAFES

What are your café hours?

Our hours vary slightly by location. You can find up-to-date hours for each café on our locations page.

Can I host an event at your cafés?

Yes, our flagship café at 35 Laurel Street is available for private or public events. For details and bookings, contact us at events@happygoatcoffee.com.

 Do your cafés offer dairy-free or vegan options?

Yes. We offer a variety of dairy alternatives, including oat and soy milk, and some of our food items are vegetarian or vegan-friendly. Just ask your barista!

Are your cafés dog-friendly?

Most of our cafés have patios where dogs are welcome to hang out with you. Indoors, local by-laws do not allow animals (aside from service dogs), but you are always welcome to come in for a to-go order.

ORDERS

Will my coffee be freshly roasted when I receive it?

Yes. All of our coffee is roasted to order in Ottawa, then shipped directly to you for peak freshness. We never send out stale stock.

Can I order online and pick it up at a café?

Yes, but pickup is only available at our flagship café located at 35 Laurel Street in Ottawa. Just select “Local Pickup” at checkout if that’s your preferred location.

How do I track my order?

As soon as your order ships, you’ll receive a tracking link by email. You can also check your order status anytime by logging into your account.

Can I get my coffee ground?

Yes. When adding a coffee to your cart, you can select your grind preference from the grind options.

Can I make a change to my order after placing it?

If your order hasn’t been roasted or shipped yet, we may be able to make changes. Contact us as soon as possible.

I entered the wrong shipping address. Can this be fixed?

If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we can usually update the address. Contact us right away with the correct information. Once an order has shipped, changes may not be possible.

I haven’t received my digital gift card. What should I do?

Digital gift cards are emailed shortly after purchase. If you haven’t received it, please check your spam or promotions folder. Still missing? Contact us and we’ll resend it.

My order hasn’t arrived. What should I do?

If your tracking number shows no movement or the package is significantly delayed, contact us and we’ll look into it with the carrier.

There’s an issue with my order. What can I do?

We’re here to help. If something arrived damaged, incorrect, or missing, let us know and we’ll make it right.

Can I use gift cards online and in-store?

Yes. We offer digital gift cards for online purchases and physical gift certificates at our cafés. At this time, they are not interchangeable, online gift cards cannot be used in-store and vice versa.

I bought a digital gift card by accident. What do I do?

If you accidentally bought a digital card but meant to get a café certificate, you can use the digital card to purchase the physical one and we’ll mail it to you.

I’m having trouble logging into my account. What should I do?

Try resetting your password using the “Forgot Password” link on the login page. Still having trouble? Contact us and we’ll help you get back in.

Returns & exchanges

Because coffee is perishable, we can’t accept returns on beans. If you are not happy with your purchase, contact us and we'll make it right.

For merchandise or brewing equipment, we can only accept returns on products that are still in their original, unopened condition. We cannot accept returns on used merchandise (unless it is defective). Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it to verify any damage and then refund the amount via your original method of payment. Refunds, exchanges, and returns on merchandise must be completed within 14 days of receiving your order.

How does the coffee subscription work?

Our coffee subscription delivers freshly roasted beans from our Ottawa roastery straight to your doorstep, just the way you like it. Choose your favourite coffee, set your delivery schedule, and enjoy specialty coffee at your pace.

Can I change my subscription anytime?

You can easily pause, skip, or cancel your coffee subscription at any time through your subscription portal. No hassle, no commitments, just great coffee, whenever you want it. You can access the subscription portal here.

Can I customize my coffee selection?

Yes! You can build your subscription with multiple coffees. Just choose your favourites and set individual delivery preferences for each one. Whether you prefer bold or smooth flavours, you can customize everything to match your taste and keep your routine fresh.

Do I have to commit to a minimum number of orders?

No commitment required. Subscriptions are completely flexible. You can pause, skip, or cancel whenever you like.

Is shipping free for subscription orders?

As long as your order meets the free shipping minimum: $50 in Ontario and Quebec, $75 for the rest of Canada. If your subscription falls below that, standard shipping rates apply.

SHIPPING

Where do you ship?

We offer shipping to Canada and the United States. Shipping is free on orders over $50 in Ontario and Quebec, and over $75 for the rest of Canada.

Do you offer free shipping?

Shipping is free when your order reaches the minimum based on your location. Orders of $50 or more ship free within Ontario and Quebec, and orders of $75 or more ship free to the rest of Canada. No code is needed. The free shipping applies automatically.

If your order does not meet the minimum, shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your address and the weight of your order.

How long will my order take to arrive?

We typically roast and ship your order within 1 to 2 business days. Delivery times vary by location, but most orders arrive within 3 to 5 business days after placing your order.

Do you offer express or expedited shipping?

All of our orders are shipped using expedited service by default. There’s no need to select or pay extra for express shipping. Once your order is roasted and packed, it ships out fast and includes tracking.

Who do you ship with?

Most of our orders are shipped through Canada Post, though we may use other trusted carriers depending on your location and service availability. In rare cases where postal service is delayed due to operational disruptions, we may adjust carriers to ensure your order arrives as quickly as possible.
